As the Quaternary Stratigraphy and Geochronology (OSL) Laboratory Technician, Garrett works directly with the IGWS' lead Surficial Geologists to describe, analyze, and date Quaternary Geologic samples. Previously, he worked as the Collections Technician for the IGWS. He was tasked with overseeing the Geophysical testing facility and assisting with field activities.

Garrett is also a Masters student in IU's Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, working with IGWS researchers Jose Luis Antinao and Henry Loope. His research focuses on the application of statistical modeling to increase precision in BOSL/IRSL dating.
