||Create new maps that include: 1) bedrock mapping in the southern half of the Bedford quadrangle in south-central Indiana, 2) bedrock mapping in northern half of the Madison, Falmouth, and Louisville quadrangles in southeast Indiana, and 3) unconsolidated mapping of ice-marginal sediments between the cities of Jasper and Washington in south-central Indiana
||Our emphasis through 2025 will be the geology south of the 40th parallel, roughly bounded to the north by Indianapolis and U.S. Highway 40 (The National Road). Synergized mapping of unconsolidated sediments, including depth-to-bedrock data, will address key relationships between glacial deposits, loess, ice-marginal deposits, and fluvial throughways that can be projected elsewhere and correlated with earlier work. Targeted sampling of bedrock stratigraphic units will provide important aquifer characterization and delineation data for future derivative mapping. Morphostratigraphic analysis will translate into future derivative mapping of seismic, flooding, subsidence, and landslide risk, complementing activities by the U.S Geological Survey and Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Fieldwork and outreach will be directed toward underrepresented minority and rural communities.

Derivative activities include hydrogeologic data collection in preparation for future bedrock and unconsolidated aquifer maps.
We will continue updating the National Geologic Map Database (NGMDB) Catalog [Task 3].
Developing a GIS infrastructure [Task 4] that will include a coherent and robust data architecture for future implementation across all geospatial records at the IGWS.
Geologic Map Schema (GeMS) Level 3 map databases [Task 5] include: 1) the Vincennes quadrangle in southwestern Indiana, and 2) the Indianapolis quadrangle in central Indiana.
