Issue: Summary, updated, small scale cartography of the Quaternary geology of the state is incomplete. There is no complete 3-D coverage for the state geology that can be used in derivative cartography to address information needs on resources like groundwater.
Objective: The goal of this project is to develop a Quaternary geology stratigraphy, presented as a 2D map, that helps in building a 3D geological mapping of the state.
Approach: Redefinition of stratigraphy is planned for 2019. Mapping and field verification of landforms and potential drilling sites to be performed in February-March-April 2020. Drilling to verify stratigraphy April 2020. Preparation of GIS layers planned for March-May 2020.
