Issue: |
Infrastructure developments in the county and projected population growth. |
Objective: |
Advance our understanding of the bedrock of Morgan County specifically, and the broader understanding of the Sanders Group to the New Albany Shale interval. Create products that can be accessed and utilized by a broad user group from geologists to planners. |
Approach: |
Manage the collection of new samples and the analysis of archived materials. Compile existing and new data into a framework from which the buried bedrock surface and the geologic formations that it intercepts can be spatially resolved and characterized. |
Products: |
Four interim 7.5 minute geologic quadrangle maps (Hall, Martinsville, Mooresville and Paragon). |
Benefits: |
New samples, new analytical data and new map products. |
