Issue: Contacted by Kathy Kozenski to produce 92 custom county maps at roughly 10 feet x 10 feet for Indiana’s Bicentennial. This project will mainly be a public outreach project.
Objective: Provide detailed maps of each county at various scales using base data and data provided by each county that are timeless and can be used for many years in the classroom and at other educational opportunities.
Approach: Using ArcMap custom data driven pages will be created for the entire project to provide consistent styling and uniformity throughout the project. Maps will then be exported and finalized using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
Products: 92 Custom county maps that will be used throughout each county from schools, libraries and other educational opportunities.
Benefits: This project will show our capabilities to create custom maps that are of high cartographic value and integrity along with provide present and future leaders of our state a spatial understanding of the areas they live in.
