Issue: |
Emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the combustion of coal and other fossil fuels are of great concern in the evaluation of greenhouse gases and their control. |
Objective: |
Provide major point sources of CO2 emissions from coal in Indiana (map and tabular data), including coal-burning electric power plants and industries and institutions. |
Approach: |
The publication will contain data on CO2 emission from coal-burning electric power plants and industries and institutions. In addition the project provides graphs of CO2 emissions by source, CO2 emission from coal by all US states, and a map of coal burning power plants in USA. |
Products: |
This project is an update of IGS Open File Study 07-01 and 09-09. The form of the publication is being discussed (poster or online application). |
Benefits: |
These data are important for regional emission evaluations and can be used by the public, industry, and state and federal governments. |
