• CONTINUING EDUCATION IS COMING

      On March 14, 2022, Governor Eric Holcomb signed Senate Bill 278 into Public Law 108 that included adding Continuing Education to the Indiana Licensure for Professional Geologists program. The law went into effect on July 1, 2022. The Board has until July 1, 2024 to implement the CE requirements. All reviews will start after July 1, 2025.

      As the Board moves through the process, it will be notifying licensees of any public meetings.

  • COMPUTER BASED TESTING (CBT)

      ASBOG is moving to computer based testing (CBT) by Prometric starting with the March 17, 2023 exams. More information, including testing locations, can be found at https://www.asbog.org/cbt/index.html.

      Exam applications will continue to be sent to: Licensing Coordinator, Indiana Geological and Water Survey, 1001 E. 10th St., Bloomington, IN 47405. Once approved by the state board and ASBOG, the applicant list will be forwarded to Prometric. Prometric will contact the applicant for final registration and payment.

      Any exam fees paid for Fall, 2022 and before will not be refunded by the IGWS nor carried over to the CBT tests.

      Exam fees will continue to be $200.00 for the Fundamental of Geology and $250.00 for the Practice of Geology. There will also be a $75.00 seat fee for each exam. Rescheduling fees will be $35.00 per exam.

      Exam scores will be sent to the Licensing Coordinator for the Indiana LPG program and will be mailed out upon receipt.
